Andy X. Wilson

Andy X. Wilson is the Founder and Partner of LiGhtBØX Pictures. Originally from Beijing, China, Andy is a filmmaker whose creative range spans directing, producing, cinematography, and editing. Bilingual in Chinese and English, he brings a technically rich, artistically driven presence to every project he touches.

He founded LiGhtBØX in late 2022 at age 13 as a creative label for short films—many of which began as passion projects or class assignments. When asked about the studio’s name, he once remarked that it “just sounds cool”—a reflection of his instinctive, aesthetic-first approach to visual identity and creative decision-making. That same spirit now guides the studio’s larger ethos: bold, confident, and unconcerned with convention.

Andy led the studio’s debut Last Glance (2024), serving as writer, director, producer, cinematographer, and editor. The short was officially selected for the 2024 All American High School Film Festival, establishing both Andy’s visual sensibility and LiGhtBØX’s early presence on the student festival circuit.

A self-taught cinematographer and programmer with a lifelong passion for visual storytelling, Andy studied at Interlochen Arts Academy’s Film and New Media Division before transferring to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California, where he is currently enrolled in the Film & Digital Media program (Class of 2027). On set, he is best known for his creative leadership — often shaping the look and technical direction of LiGhtBØX productions.

As LiGhtBØX expands its work across both student and international platforms, Andy continues to serve as the studio’s cornerstone. Whether behind the lens or on the editing timeline, he approaches each project with precision, versatility, and confidence that makes him one of the most reliable collaborators in the room.
